Trip to The Free Store

Gen and I decided it would be good to visit The Free Store and see what it was like, how it worked, and if/where we could see our project fitting in.

It was really interesting - people were there lining up before 5:30pm, it got really dark really quick! At 6pm the store opened and you are able to pick a number of items from the shelves to take. There was a real range of people there from all walks of life, and most of them had a plastic bag with them to put the food in. The serving people were really friendly and happy to take any requests and find you things you would like.

It was beautifully designed but very full! It's hard to imagine where our project would fit exactly - we are hoping to talk to Ben (owner) sometime in the coming week about our project and get his thoughts.
