Class today was rapid fire!
We all pitched our ideas, were given feedback, then half an hour to go away before coming back to re-pitch.
Our feedback was to go even wider with our initial research in order to find our focus. This included investigating nurseries, events (weddings/funerals), holidays (Valentine's, Mother's Day), the carbon footprint of cut flowers, the importation of flowers and more!
In that half hour my research revealed:

This led the others to looking into the chemical treatments of these flowers more and made us realise a very real need to ask the florists on Wednesday whether there flowers are imported and chemically treated.
We then re-pitched by explaining our need to find our focus through research. Our tutors agree that there is a lot of scope to this area and that we need to do our research into what interests us, what we can realistically tackle and present that next week.
We are hoping that our research day on Wednesday will reveal a lot for us and help us to define our direction.
